Are you going to brave it by carrying your dome tent onto the Glastonbury site or do you want something easier and more comfortable like an off site luxury yurt? If the idea of 'luxury yurts' fills you with joy but you don't know how to choose the best campsite then we are here to help. Why does Pennard Orchard provide perfect yurts at Glastonbury?
Pennard Orchard is located just outside the Glastonbury Festival site in a peaceful orchard setting. It is here that owners Barty and Alex have created pop up accommodation perfection. A mix of tipis and yurts spread over the field providing luxurious tented bedrooms. To compliment the boutique accommodation there are high quality bathrooms, a pampering yurt and a very special bar and restaurant marquee. The camp is run with love and has an intimate atmosphere which I think is really important. It isn't a huge sprawling site with hundreds of yurts but a carefully curated space where you feel welcomed and looked after like a guest at a boutique hotel.
Does your yurt location at Glastonbury really matter?
If you do choose to be in one of the off site campsites at Glastonbury the location is really important. Pennard is located just outside the village of East Pennard so essentially you are at the top of the hill behind the stone circle. This is a great place to be as it is very quiet but only a 10min walk from your yurt to the gate - or you can get wizzed in a vehicle to the gate by one of the charming Pennard staff.
Why should I choose a Hooe's Yurt at Glastonbury?
At Pennard there are a few different accommodation options but I would always recommend that you hire one of our yurts. We think yurt from us is extra special because they come with our signature decoration, proper beds and of course our excellent bedding and linen. All our yurts have power which means electric bedside lamps and somewhere to recharge your phone ready for the next day of partying out at the festival. We think of the little things that make camping comfortable such as a luggage rack, hooks and hangers for your Glastonbury outfits and of course an all important mirror. A final and important feature is the locking doors on our yurts. Lock the yurt and go out knowing that everything is safe and dry for when you return...much better than a flooded dome tent with your valuables missing any day!
Where do we stay at Glastonbury festival and do we stay in a yurt?!
And where do we stay for Glastonbury Festival? Sadly not in a yurt as they are guaranteed to be fully booked but we always choose to stay at Pennard Orchard in our camper van. We stay at Pennard to keep an eye on our yurts but we have the additional benefit of the wonderful atmosphere and facilities. We love it and our kids love it. The place means everyone sleeps well and we can wake, shower and enjoy a delicious restaurant breakfast in the morning before spending a great day on site showing the children all the Glastonbury delights. In the evening we can hire a babysitter (easy as we are off site), enjoy a cocktail with friends at the bar before heading down into the Glastonbury madness. We cannot wait for Glastonbury 2024 and we feel grateful for our yurt business, for being able to get tickets and for all the magic we get to experience.
